Right folks, here is what happened yesterday: in August last season (just before Kona) I caused knee injury by falling down.I got over it 2 months after, however knee was still sensitive for touch. 2 days ago I hit it against sharp end of table right in the “wrong” spot.Didn’t think anything of it as serious, however 2hrs into the bike sharp pain started. Took paracetamol, didn’t help, rode through pain all the way and thought to try running, maybe it stops.I was wrong, total agony.Luckily had Jon on the course who was stocking me with Ibuprofens(still pain a bit).He got in touch with my coach Tom Bennett, at that time I was in 31st km when coach send message for me to stop right away. I listened and pulled out immediately.
First Ironman DNF, however little angry with myself I didn’t stop earlier as body was saying, Aya you have an injury.
Thanks so much for all the support and sorry to my family and friends who were worried.xxx I will be back.
